This is a partnership between the editor and writer where the writer holds the final, creative control over their work. The recommendations I make to you throughout the process are suggestions only as the final creative decisions in regard to what you include and exclude in your manuscript will always be your responsibility, as the writer. The editor can be an essential partner for the writer but it is not an editor's responsibility to rewrite the manuscript or to take creative control of the writer's content. The work I do with the writer exists to enhance the structure and quality of the manuscript and I can make recommendations only. Please be advised that as a developmental and stylistic editor, I can take no responsibility for any additional changes made to the manuscript after it has been agreed upon by both parties and signed off.
